چکیده

Superhydrophobic poly(methylmethacrylate) (PMMA) surface with nanostructure was prepared effectively via phase separation and selective solvent method. It is proposed that the cooperation of the nanostructure of PMMA surface and the surface group reorientation leads to the superhydrophobicity of PMMA surface. The superhydrophobic PMMA surface with nanostructure was characterized by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and water contact angle (WCA) measurements. The blood compatibility of the superhydrophobic PMMA surface with nanostructure was evaluated by platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and fresh human whole blood contacting experiments using pure flat PMMA film as the control. These two experiments demonstrated that blood compatibility of the superhydrophobic PMMA surface with nanostructure is better than that of the pure flat PMMA film. The significance of this research lies in that it will greatly broaden the application range of materials that can be used as biomaterials by fabrication of superhydrophobic surfaces.

Preparation and Evaluation of Blood Compatibility of Novel Epoxy-Modified Polyurethanes

In order to prepare polyurethane elastomers with acceptable physical properties and good biocompatibility, novel polyurethane networks were synthesized via curing reaction of epoxy-terminated polyurethane prepolymers (EUPs) with hexamethylene diamine. EUPs were prepared from reaction of glycidol with NCO-terminated polyurethanes (ITPs). ITPs were also synthesized from reaction of one equi...

بررسی اثر پلی‌اتیلن گلایکول بر رفتار ترشوندگی سطوح آبگریز ZnO تهیه شده به‌روش رسوب‌دهی حمام شیمیایی

A superhydrophobic ZnO surface was prepared on the stainless steel mesh by a one-step chemical bath deposition method without chemical post-treatment. The effect of adding polyethylene glycol 6000 (PEG 6000) as an organic additive and the type of the alkaline agent were investigated on the morphological and wettability properties of ZnO surfaces. The prepared surfaces were characterized by X-ra...

Superhydrophobic surfaces developed by mimicking hierarchical surface morphology of lotus leaf.

The lotus plant is recognized as a 'King plant' among all the natural water repellent plants due to its excellent non-wettability. The superhydrophobic surfaces exhibiting the famous 'Lotus Effect', along with extremely high water contact angle (>150°) and low sliding angle (<10°), have been broadly investigated and extensively applied on variety of substrates for potential self-cleaning and an...
